Editorial Policy
BetterBonus publishes casino reviews, bonus comparisons, and guides for players. This page explains who produces that content, what standards govern it, how we handle the tension between editorial independence and affiliate funding, and what to do if something we have published is wrong.
Who Writes and Edits
All reviews, guides, and ratings on BetterBonus are written or edited by people with direct iGaming industry experience. Writers are expected to read the primary source, the operator's full terms and conditions, the regulator's public register, the provider's published RTP data, not to summarise other review sites.
The Editor in Chief is Erik King. He set up the review framework, has final sign-off on all ratings, and is the named contact for editorial complaints. His background is in the European iGaming industry, which he has covered since 2013, based in Malta where most regulated operators are licensed. Every author on this site publishes under their real name with a profile that includes their relevant experience.
We do not publish anonymously. A review without a named author is not published on BetterBonus.
Independence and Affiliate Revenue
BetterBonus earns affiliate commissions when readers register through our links. That is how the site is funded. It is disclosed on every page where affiliate links appear and covered in detail in our Advertiser Disclosure.
The commission model creates an obvious question about independence, and it deserves a direct answer: commercial relationships do not influence ratings or written assessments. Some of the highest-commission operators on this site have the weakest ratings. We have declined to adjust reviews when operators objected to findings. A casino paying us a commission gets the same evaluation process as one that does not.
There is one area where commercial arrangements do affect presentation: some featured or promoted placements within lists can reflect a commercial relationship. When that is the case, it is labelled as featured or promoted. Within standard ranked lists, position reflects editorial scoring, not payment. Our scoring methodology is published in full.
What We Publish
Reviews on BetterBonus contain verifiable, specific claims: the licence number and the regulator that issued it, the wagering requirement and the basis it applies to, the maximum withdrawal limit, the game contribution rates that determine real bonus value. We do not publish superlatives we cannot substantiate, phrases like “completely safe” or “best in the industry” do not appear in our editorial copy because they are not verifiable.
We do not publish operator-supplied content as editorial. We do not accept press releases and paste them as reviews. We do not write positive content in exchange for a listing or commission arrangement.
We also write about casinos we have no commercial relationship with when they are relevant to a comparison or when readers ask about them. The absence of an affiliate link does not indicate a problem with the operator.
Corrections and Updates
Casino terms, payment methods, and licence status change regularly. We run scheduled rechecks on every listed operator and update content when something material shifts. The date a review was last checked is shown on the review page.
If you find something incorrect, a withdrawal time that does not reflect your experience, an outdated bonus amount, a licence number that no longer matches the regulator's register email [email protected] with the page URL and the specific claim you believe is wrong. We check against the primary source. If you are right, we correct it.
Corrections are not hidden. When a material error is fixed, we note what changed and when in an annotation on the relevant section. We do not silently rewrite pages to remove errors without acknowledging they occurred.
AI and Content Tools
We use AI tools as part of the editorial process for research, structuring drafts, and checking data consistency. We do not publish AI-generated text directly. Every page on BetterBonus is reviewed, edited, and approved by a named editor before publication. The standards described in this policy apply to the final published content regardless of how a draft was produced.
Where AI output has been used to help structure a guide, the editorial judgement, what to include, what claims to verify, what qualifies for a rating is made by a named human editor.
Sponsored Content
BetterBonus does not currently publish paid editorial. If content were produced on behalf of an advertiser where an operator paid for placement within a guide or review text, it would be labelled “Sponsored” and would not appear under a standard editorial byline. No such content currently exists on this site.
